Jewellery Care

Lucy Thompson Jewellery has been designed and built by hand to last.

No jewellery is unbreakable, but, with careful handling, storage and proper care, it will last you a lifetime and more. Here are some top tips to keep your jewellery looking in top shape:

For information on how to clean your Lucy Thompson Jewellery, you can read her blog post here.

  • Remove jewellery when showering or bathing. Lotions and perfumes can cause discolouration when they come into contact with jewellery so it's always best to put your jewellery on last.

  • Keep your jewellery away from chemicals such as chlorine (no going swimming or soaking in a hot tub with your jewels on!)

  • Store your jewellery in a sealed bag or box when not being worn. Silver will tarnish quicker when left out on the side, especially in humid locations such as a bathroom. This is a completely natural process and is unavoidable but it can be delayed with care and reversed with cleaning.

  • Don't be tempted to pop your jewellery in your purse or pocket when out and about. Some chains can be irreversibly damaged when tangled and the gold plating can get scratched.
